On the first floor of the basement of the Edificio La Paz you can enjoy some very interesting archaeological remains. These are two lines of ashlars that formed part of the foundations of the old medieval city wall.
These remains correspond to the first courses of the foundations of the ancient wall, made up of ashlars, ashlars and limestone masonry joined with mortar.
The area where this part of the Medieval Wall is located would be on the western boundary of the Puebla Nueva of the city, possibly between the wall itself and the old convent of San Francisco, just where the Town Hall stands today.
These archaeological remains can be visited during the opening hours of the building from 08.30 to 14.00 hours (13.30 hours in summer).
