It is the closest urban beach to the city centre, which makes it the ideal option for enjoying a day at the beach without having to leave the city centre.
Its sand is fine and golden and the beach is 200 metres long and has an average width of 70 metres. Despite its name, it is a very safe beach for bathing, suitable for all ages, as it is located in the interior of the Bay of Santander, so its waters are very calm and there are hardly any waves.
The bathing area is delimited by platforms that can be reached by swimming and sunbathing.
It has ample parking, but is also served by a cycle path from the city centre and has frequent public transport.
Although it is located in the town centre, the beach has abundant vegetation and unbeatable views of the Bay.
There are several theories about the name of this beach, although the most widely accepted is the one that refers to the danger of boats running aground due to the shallow waters.
It is an accessible beach equipped with a free adapted toilet, changing room, shaded area, amphibious chair/amphibious crutches and adapted shower. From 1 June to 30 September, there is an assisted bathing service for disabled persons or persons with reduced mobility, provided by qualified staff, which does not require prior booking.
On the beach there is also a children's play area with monitors who carry out, among other things, environmental sustainability activities.
To enjoy a day at the beach, Los Peligros has sun loungers and parasols for hire, as well as the possibility of renting water vehicles, which can be found nearby.
