Located at the west end of the building of the Higher Technical School of Nautical Studies of the University of Cantabria, you will recognise it by its metallic dome.
Its location, at the end of the Paseo Marítimo and close to Puertochico, offers marvellous views of the bay of Santander and the maritime area of the city.
This Planetarium houses a large, specialised projector that accurately displays the apparent motion of the Sun, the Moon, the planets and their satellites and the stars on a dome-shaped screen, simulating the way they would be seen anywhere on Earth at any time of day or night.
Special projectors for the heliocentric solar system, for Jupiter and its Galilean satellites and for shooting stars and comets complete the installation, giving us the feeling of being in a privileged natural environment.
