Embarcadero Palace

A former passenger station turned into a cultural landmark

This building, designed by the architect Javier González de Riancho, is located on the Paseo Marítimo. The palace was built in 1920 as a passenger station and since 1985 it has been used as an exhibition and conference hall.

It is owned by the Port Authority and is one of the spaces provided by the Port of Santander to promote and disseminate culture and maritime-port heritage. Both halls are dedicated to its own exhibitions as well as to travelling exhibitions.

The building itself is an icon of Santander and a symbol of its port and its interior, without a doubt, a cultural meeting point that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
