The Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital is a top level institution within the National Health System, offering all medical-surgical specialities and performing all types of organ and tissue transplants, with a high level of technological development.
The Marqués de Valdecilla Foundation manages a gallery in the Hospital made up of works by leading artists, who donate them altruistically as part of the 'Art for Health' programme. The aim is to open up the Hospital to society as a whole and to make progress in the humanisation of all healthcare spaces.
The exhibition aims to highlight and give visibility to the talent and the great creative work of Cantabrian artists such as: Adolfo Estrada, Ana Díez, Ana Melgosa, Ángel Izquierdo, Arancha Goyeneche Pérez, Carlos Ferreira, Concha García Sánchez, Daniel R. Martin, Eduardo Gruber, Eloy Velázquez, Faustino Cuevas, Fernando Bermejo, Fernando Calderón, Gerardo de Alvear, Gloria Pereda, Gloria Torner, Guido González Velasco, Jesús Alberto Pérez Castaños, Joaquín Martínez Cano, José Antonio Andrés Vera, José Antonio Barquín Ruiz, Juan Carlos Fernández Izquierdo, Juan Ignacio Goitia Arbe, Juan Manuel Puente Rivero, Juan Uslé, Pedro Sobrado, Pilar Gómez Cossío, Rafael Muro Sierra, Roberto Orallo, Sol Laínz, Teresa Blanco del Piñal, Trinidad Sotos Bayarri, Victoria Civera and Yolanda Novoa.
