The Botin Foundation, created in 1964 by Marcelino Botín Sanz de Sautuola and his wife, Carmen Yllera, the aim of the Botín Foundation has been to promote social development. Located in their family home, it is a space for creative talent and knowledge.

The headquarters of this institution has an exhibition hall, as well as an assembly hall, a seminar room, a library and an attic where workshops are often held.

The Botin Foundation's library specialises in art, from the 19th century to the present day, and in music. The online catalogue currently contains 28,000 documents including monographs, magazines, scores, DVDs and sound recordings.
