If you like museums with a difference, inside the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse you will find one of the most unique museum spaces in our region.
The "Faro de Cabo Mayor" Art Centre has three exhibition rooms distributed between the base of the lighthouse tower and its annexed buildings.
The Sala Cabo Mayor is the heart of the Art Centre and occupies the space of the old lighthouse keepers' house. It houses the central nucleus of the Sanz-Villar collection, which is made up of more than two hundred large and medium format pieces and an overwhelming set of almost a thousand drawings, watercolours, graphites... dedicated by Eduardo Sanz to the main lighthouses of the Spanish coastline. The coherent and significant selection of works included in the Centre's permanent exhibition is one of its main hallmarks, as lighthouses have been a constant reference in Sanz's long artistic career.
